The US SimpleScout service is due to launch in mid-2004. Part of the PR Press Network, it is the latest addition to our free services for the world's media industry. It is designed to operate as simply as its name suggests - emails from photographers and filmmakers will be submitted to SimpleScout via an online form. These emails will be vetted to ensure they are genuine enquiries and then forwarded to for-profit and not-for-profit location representatives on the SimpleScout email mailing list. For the purpose of this form, location representatives include commercial location scout companies and individuals and PR companies/marketing executives representing suitable clients and/or locations.

Remember: the SimpleScout service is free for users (such as photographers and filmmakers) and location representatives. Emails from users will include information regarding whether they have a budget available for their request. Location agents can then choose whether or not to contact the users based on this and other information included in the email. For example, commercial location scouts may choose to contact only those users with a budget. PR and marketing executives, on the other hand, may see potential in planned photoshoots that do not have a budget.
