What kind of things can I ask for?
Pretty much anything, within reason. The location agents - press officers, public relations and marketing professionals and professional location scouts - have made themselves available to help with your research. Whatever you're looking for, just send out a request. BUT (and it's an important but) be aware that SimpleScout has two kinds of location representative, broadly speaking. There are (a) professional location scouts with comprehensive contacts and details of a multitude of sites, but they are almost certainly going to charge for their services. And there are also (b) location representatives who can see the benefit of their locations being featured in the media, such as the public relations departments of some parks and stately homes, for example. This is why it is vitally important you indicate whether there is a budget available for your project in your request.

Am I going to get flooded with suggestions and offers of help I can't use?
No, because not only can you choose how location representatives contact you, always remember that these people are professionals, they have jobs to do! Unless they think there's a good chance of you both working together they probably won't get in touch at all. If you want to consider offers of help at your leisure ask location representatives to contact you via email. If you need something in a hurry, why not give your phone/fax number? Users who want to keep absolute total control over the responses can even establish a dedicated free email account to filter offers of content.

I've registered as a location representative - now how do I send my pitches to photographers and filmmakers?
Click on the PITCH! link you'll find at the top right of most pages. Once you've entered your username and password you'll reach the submission page. Consider bookmarking that page for future reference.

Can I submit a list of my clients and ask SimpleScout users to contact me if any of them are of interest?
We're afraid not. Location representatives can submit pitches regarding specific clients and what they have to offer and they can even submit these more than once - but within reason! We will filter out any submissions which come in too often. And besides, the best way to make the most of SimpleScout is to sell filmmakers and photographers on the idea that your location is extra special - they are far more likely to respond to offers that have resulted from a little creative brainstorming.

How soon will my pitch go out to SimpleScout users?
A round-up of pitches will be issued once a week, but particularly time-sensitive pitches (and requests for locations) may be issued as and when they are filed.
